The wait is killing me on this glider Pete, I was praying last time the ETA of this arriving so you could ship was going to be the last delay of Oct20th but turns out 1-2 weeks more are to be expected which so far could turn out to be another month.

Flying my Hobby City Easy Fly RTF Electric Glider outside work on a cold sunday. The plane is ready out of the box just mount the tail and the stickers and your own receiver and battery. I am flying with a Rhino 1550mah 3s. You can easily fly 30min without finding any great thermal sources.

As you can see, some of the aspects of the plane are based on the calculations, while others were based on group choice, such as using the inverted V-tail and the size of the tail. I personally felt that the tail was too small, but this was something that was overruled by the rest of the group. Unfortunately, I don't think it helped, as the plane didn't get very far.

And it's true, a typical cloudbase here is actually lower than many sites in the big mountain. I spent about 12 years in New Mexico, and flew Sandia a lot. Launch there is over 10,000 MSL. It takes a VERY good day here to have a base that high. It has happened, but it's rare.

I also flew an American Aerolights Eagle (ultralight) the motor sure made it easy but there wasn't the rush like the first steps of launch. You really skied out man! I flew Denver Lookout Mountain CO mostly and other areas nearby. Shoot most of my launches were higher than your base :-) Stay safe. Do they still call onlookers WuFos? (i.e. wu fo you jump off that hill?) and UpTrucks?

I have to say the best diet for them would consist of live mealworms, fruits, and pellets. Their diet is very important and a lot of research should go into it.
