The gs and es are the 2L NA versions and talon had a DL and eclipse had an RS that was the base model. 1st gen was a wedge design and the sec was more rounded. The sec was rounded kinda like the 8 above. if there is no bulge on the hood and is an eclipse it is probably a 2000+model as talons were no longer made after 1999.

Laser was available awd starting in 92 and any 90 awd talon or eclipse is manual as autos were not available til 91.

No way would I buy a sports car and make it an auto, that takes a lot of the fun away. Launching is part of the fun. Nothing launches like awd. My old talon would pin you in the seat if you launch it at 5k. g35 is not awd and if you really want cheap and fast, just get a 1st gen talon or eclipse, if you can find one. awesome cars.

I agree that the 8 is not that good on gas especially if you have a lead foot but, none of the cars you mentioned will be. If you have a lead foot, they will do no better than the 8. Gearing helps all the above but the 8 achieve decent hwy mpg. If the 8 had a taller 6th gear, it too would get 25+ as I have done.

You see, these cars are on both ends on the scale. Lotus is the tiny lighting fast and nimble fly, and the Mustang is the big fat, but still fast Muscle.

tsi or gst is the turbo version and tsi awd and gsx are the awd versions. The gs and es are the 2L NA versions and talon had a DL and eclipse had an RS that was the base model. 1st gen was a wedge design and the sec was more rounded. The sec was rounded kinda like the 8 above. if there is no bulge on the hood and is an eclipse it is probably a 2000+model as talons were no longer made after 1999.

the talon I am looking at has been modded. the first gen talon/eclipse run around 7 to 60 and 15 in the 1/4 stock. This one has about 375hp at 20+psi and forged internals.

no no. the talon is just an eclipse with different badging. The tsi awd is the same as a gsx eclipse. i have owned both. the first gen is the best to own for 2 reasons. the turbo is bigger stock than the 2nd gen and the Cd is better on the 1st gen. talon/eclipse/laser are all the same car. Laser was available awd starting in 92 and any 90 awd talon or eclipse is manual as autos were not available til 91.

I am looking at getting a 12 sec talon right now myself. I used to own one years ago but not quite as fast though. Manuals are so much fun. awd cannot be beat, I used to take my talon on gravel roads and it was fun drifting all 4 wheels :)

Every car should be serviced every 3k miles in my opinion but, people do what they want. the evo is awd and safer to drive. surely you like changing gears. No way would I buy a sports car and make it an auto, that takes a lot of the fun away. Launching is part of the fun. Nothing launches like awd. My old talon would pin you in the seat if you launch it at 5k. g35 is not awd and if you really want cheap and fast, just get a 1st gen talon or eclipse, if you can find one. awesome cars.

Actually the older evo and sti are not that bad and for what you are going to pay for the g35, you can get an evo 9 or 8 for the same price if you look hard enough. I agree that the 8 is not that good on gas especially if you have a lead foot but, none of the cars you mentioned will be. If you have a lead foot, they will do no better than the 8. Gearing helps all the above but the 8 achieve decent hwy mpg. If the 8 had a taller 6th gear, it too would get 25+ as I have done.
