For example bicep curls can be done with dumbbells, or a barbell. You can move hard positions on a barbell to focus more on the inner/outer head of the bicep. You can and should if you have access to gym equipment also do cable varations which include standing, sitting, even lying down. The reason being the more varations the better whatever muscle you are exercising because it applies tension from different angles.

The "ideal" weight of dumbbells when first starting is relative to the strength you begin at. A simple way to find a starting weight is visit a gym or retail store that has DB's, do 1 curl with increasing weight till you can barely curl it using strict proper form then caculate 60-70% of whatever that weight was. Then do 3 sets of 10 reps, till too easy, bump up wt.

Also, people on the computer a lot are vulnerable to glaucoma - a disease that can leave you blind, which only a doctor can detect.

ps.the crystalline lens is responsible for the ammount of accommodation you have left, cumming e.a.2006 proofed that the ciliary muscles still work in old age

If youre not diagnosed with Convergence insufficience (leak off turning your eyes inwards) it could be harmfull. The other 2 should be fine although I do not seem to see the point of those exercises, because they don't seem to serve any real purpose. It's not like going to the gym. It doesn't work like that. Your eyes are organs, not muscles.

By: moosedawg71. on 05 Feb 10, 08:18:18 that's not really true - yes, SOME back pain can be from that, but most lower back pain is due to weak muscles in both the back and core, therefore not properly supporting your body. There's no way to 'strengthen' a disc - it's not a muscle. Strengthening the muscles AROUND the discs can help, but mostly strengthen the core so your lower back muscles aren't doing all the work in supporting your body.
