Federal Auditors Block New Blackwater Contract The Washington Post reports federal auditors have put a stop to Army plans to award a $1 billion training program for Afghan police officers to the company formerly known as Blackwater. The decision was made after auditors concluded that other companies were unfairly excluded from bidding on the job.
The President of the Providence Chapter of the NAACP, Clifford Montiero, is calling for the resignation of the Providence Police Chief Dean Esserman. Claims he should be fired for failing to recruit black officers and is asking Ciciline to appoint a minority to be the commissioner of the the city's public safety.

bit.ly Rasansky Law Firm has filed a wrongful death case on behalf of the family of Sonia Baker, who was killed December 11, 2009 when her car was struck by the SUV of intoxicated, off-duty Fort Worth police officer, Jesus Cisneros. The lawsuit has been filed against the Pour House, a bar in Fort Worth that is believed to have overserved Cisneros directly before he struck and killed Baker.
